As the Founding Director of ImpactEd Philanthropy, I am delighted to introduce our specialist practice and share an insight into the work we have been doing with partners in our first year to strengthen their impact and sustainability.

Why did you launch ImpactEd Philanthropy?

The idea for ImpactEd Philanthropy was inspired by questions from our partners in the Evaluation and Consulting practices on fundraising:

“Where can we find people and organisations who will support our work?”

“What do we need in place to submit strong funding applications efficiently?”

“How do we secure funding now and for future years?”

These are significant challenges which need to be addressed in the right way. We wanted to be able to offer expert support to organisations seeking philanthropic funding to fuel their important missions.  But more than that, we are seeking to bridge the gap between fundraisers and funders to move resources and meet societal needs.  From my experience as an in-house fundraiser, combined with postgraduate studies in philanthropy and volunteering with a grant making foundation, I strongly believe that by working collaboratively and building strong relationships across the funding ecosystem, we can be more impactful.

What do you want achieve?

We want organisations seeking fundraising to be in a stronger position to do so; to have the foundations in place to understand and communicate their needs, to consistently monitor their fundraising activity, and to provide excellent supporter experiences that help them to build lasting relationships.  We want organisations giving funds to be intentional and impactful; to have a deep understanding of needs and solutions, to have the clarity to drive good decision-making, and to foster positive relationships with (prospective) partners built on trust and shared learning.  We are especially keen to work with you if:

You are from a charity/school/multi-academy trust and are seeking support with fundraising - from building a pipeline, to developing a case for support and approaching new donors

You have funding to give and are seeking support to make a real difference

You are setting up a new charity and seeking support to make it happen.

What are you working on currently?

At the moment, our dynamic range of projects includes supporting an education charity to develop their fundraising strategy and case for support, supporting a funder to provide high-quality support for their grantees on financial sustainability, and supporting a multi-academy trust to establish a new charity to support their local communities.  We support organisations across a range of sizes, causes, and priorities and are very happy to hear from anyone who would be interested in working with us.

How can we get in involved with the practice?
